ZTE Opens Regional Service Center in Uzbekistan IT Park

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — ZTE, a world leader in information and communication technologies, has opened a Regional Service Center in Uzbekistan’s IT Park. The new center will play a key role in developing the country’s digital infrastructure, strengthening international cooperation, and improving the quality of digital services in the region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, who emphasized that the establishment of a regional hub by such a major international company confirms the country’s growing investment attractiveness.

The service center is designed to provide technical services, support, and innovative solutions for Uzbekistan, Central Asian countries, and Europe. The project is expected to accelerate the growth of the digital economy, expand IT service exports, and create opportunities for upskilling local professionals.

Following the ceremony, Minister Shermatov met with James Zhang, Senior Vice President and President of ZTE for the Asia-Pacific region and CIS.

During the discussions, they reviewed strategic initiatives to position Uzbekistan as a regional digital hub, including the development of data centers, reliable data storage systems, expansion of high-performance cloud computing capabilities, and attraction of foreign investment.

Special attention was given to practical aspects of large-scale projects: ensuring stable electricity supply, integrating renewable energy sources, and developing supporting infrastructure. Measures for comprehensive security—including cybersecurity, physical protection, and international reliability standards—were also discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Shermatov and James Zhang confirmed their commitment to accelerating Uzbekistan’s digital transformation, implementing advanced technologies, and deepening bilateral cooperation for sustainable development of the region’s digital sector.
