ZTE and Mobiuz Complete First Stage of Network Modernization in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — ZTE Corporation, a global leader in comprehensive information and communication technology, and Uzbekistan’s leading telecommunications operator Mobiuz have announced the completion of the first stage of a large-scale network modernization project in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region.
The project represents a significant step toward the digitalization of these regions, significantly increasing network performance and capacity for Mobiuz subscribers. An official presentation of the results took place in Nukus, attended by government representatives and media.
The technical implementation included comprehensive modernization of the network infrastructure: replacement of microwave relay systems and base stations, and the launch of more than 1,200 new base stations across both regions. These measures substantially improved the quality of communication services: internet speeds increased by 20% in Karakalpakstan and 33% in Khorezm, while network capacity allowed for a 36% and 34% increase in data transmission volumes, respectively.
Independent tests conducted by the Republican Center for Telecommunications Network Monitoring of Uzbekistan confirmed the improvements, recognizing Mobiuz as the leading provider in internet speed and network reliability in these regions.
Mobiuz CEO Sobir Aripov emphasized the project’s social as well as technological significance: “This is an opportunity for children to access quality education, for doctors to apply modern technologies, and for entrepreneurs to enter new markets. The results in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm confirm that the chosen approach is correct. On behalf of the Mobiuz team, I express gratitude to everyone who contributed to this project. We are creating a solid foundation for a digital Uzbekistan.”
ZTE Uzbekistan CEO Wang Guangdong added: “We are proud of this partnership in such a transformative project. The successful completion of the first stage demonstrates our commitment to Uzbekistan’s digitalization goals using advanced and reliable solutions. ZTE’s modern equipment and expertise have provided a forward-looking infrastructure that will serve the residents of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm for many years. We look forward to continuing successful collaboration with Mobiuz to implement innovations across the country.”
The project’s implementation in these regions continues and fully aligns with the state program for developing digital infrastructure and introducing modern digital services for all citizens.
