Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 21 May, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, a spouse of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the scene of an emergency at the Sardoba reservoir and met with local residents evacuated from the flood zone. In a conversation with them, the first lady of the country expressed words of sincere support and solidarity, inquired about their well-being, conditions in places of temporary residence.
“From the side it’s easy to say: “Do not despair, these days will be left behind!” But only you yourself know what is happening in your soul! You saved on yourself and raised houses, so that your sons could find homes. Denying themselves new clothes, they saved a dowry for their daughters. We all know, we have all seen, heard.
I really wanted to visit you on the eve of Khait - a holy holiday, to support me with at least a kind word. Let us pray on these revered days and ask for the good. May these calamities and difficulties be left behind. May each of you live in peace with your family in peace and health. Allah will give, everything will be fine. We are with you. All the people of Uzbekistan are with you! Our President is with you!” - said Ziroat Mirziyoyeva.
During the visit, a joint social project of the Zamin Foundation and the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan was announced to support families from 11 affected makhallas of Sardoba, Akaltyn and Mirzaabad districts. For a meaningful pastime during the restoration of flooded areas and huge construction work, people over 60 will receive free ten-day treatment in sanatoriums and recreation areas in the city of Tashkent, Tashkent, Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions, and children aged 7 to 14 years will rest at no cost in summer health camps. In the coming days, all of them will be given invitation certificates.
Considering the quarantine conditions, all participants of the action will pass the test for COVID-19. All safety measures will be followed.
