Youth Council to be created in Uzbekistan
Administration of Muinak district of Karakalpakstan in cooperation with the joint project of the UN and UN Volunteers “Social innovations and voluntarity in Uzbekistan” developed a concept of Youth Council under the Administration of Muinak district. The initiative is aimed at improving dialogue between youth and local state bodies.
Youth Council will be a platform, which will link Administration of Muinak district with the youth. The council will help improve knowledge of youth on activities of the state bodies and adopted decisions and provide opinion of youth to the state bodies on adopted decisions.
The concept outlines goals and tasks of the Council, its authority and competence, its structure, organization of its work, etc.
Governor of Muinak district Hudaybergan Uteniyazo said that launched of the Youth Council will create practical conditions for improving knowledge of youth and their social activity and will help the state bodies take into account interests and opinions of youth in the decision making process.
Over 30 representatives of the state bodies, public organizations and youth participated in the roundtable and familiarized with the concept on creation of the youth council. During the event, the participants shared their opinion on further improving the concept of the Youth Council.
It is expected that the Muinak district governor will issue a resolution on creation of Youth Council. The initiators of the Council are planning to develop a policy note with concrete recommendations on launch of Youth Council in all regions of Uzbekistan.
