Yandex Uzbekistan Launches Venture Fund to Support Early-Stage Startups

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Yandex Uzbekistan has announced the launch of Yango Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on investing in promising early-stage startups in Uzbekistan.

The fund, established by parent company Yango Group, already has experience in venture investments across Latin America, Africa, and the MENAP region. The team presented its plans for the development of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem during a meeting with entrepreneurs and investors at ICT Week 2025.

Yandex Uzbekistan aims to support innovation and entrepreneurship by providing startups not only with access to capital but also with the company’s global expertise and network to help scale and grow sustainably.

“As a technology company, we are part of Uzbekistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and deeply interested in its growth. Technology is the foundation of progress, but startups also need expertise and networks to scale. The mission of the new venture fund is to grow together with people. By equipping talent with tools and resources, we want to help build a sustainable digital economy in Uzbekistan,” said Izzat Shukurov, head of Yandex Uzbekistan.

Yango Ventures will target early-stage startups, from Seed to Series B, with a focus on O2O (Online-to-Offline), B2B SaaS, and FinTech. The fund was launched with an initial capital of $20 million, with plans to expand its investment base in the future.

Its advisory board includes experts with significant experience in developing and scaling platforms and products in sectors such as mobility, entertainment, fintech, and artificial intelligence, both within Yango Group and beyond.

The launch of Yango Ventures is part of Yandex Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to support Uzbek entrepreneurs on a global level.
