Yandex Uzbekistan Acquires Online Cinema Allplay, Brand to Be Retained

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Yandex Uzbekistan has acquired 100% of the shares in Anyway and Allmedia Safe Service, the companies providing access to the online cinema Allplay, according to Izzat Shukurov, head of Yandex in Uzbekistan.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed. Yandex stated that the transaction received all necessary regulatory approvals, including from the Competition Development Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Allplay brand will continue to operate and become part of the Yandex Plus subscription ecosystem, which offers users access to movies, TV series, music, books, sports broadcasts, and a loyalty program.

Allplay’s catalog will be expanded with content from online cinemas Wink, Start, and Kinopoisk, the streaming service Amediateka, television channels, and other partners.

“We will continue to develop the Allplay brand, focusing on user convenience and expanding the catalog — including both international content and domestic films,” said Izzat Shukurov.
