XXI Charity Festival of Cultural Traditions and National Cuisine Opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 September, the Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is hosting the 21st Charity Festival of Cultural Traditions and National Cuisine at the Central Park in Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital. The festival brings together diplomatic missions and international organizations.
The main goal of the festival is to create a friendly, informal atmosphere among diplomatic staff while introducing participants to the cultural and gastronomic heritage of various countries.
All proceeds from the event are directed to charitable support for children suffering from cancer and those with health limitations.
The festival program includes:
Presentations of national dishes by diplomatic missions;
Showcases of bread products from local producers under the slogan “Tashkent — City of Bread”;
Bread-making masterclasses with professional bakers;
Exhibitions of traditional crafts;
Performances by folkloric and ethnographic ensembles from Uzbekistan and foreign missions.
Special participation is provided by spouses of ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Women’s Club, who traditionally support humanitarian and cultural initiatives.
A diplomat attending the festival noted: “Events like this help us better understand the cultures and traditions of other countries while uniting around a common humanitarian goal — supporting children who need help the most. It is an important example of how diplomacy can benefit society.”
Organizers emphasize that the festival has become not only a vibrant event in the capital’s cultural life but also an important platform for strengthening intercultural dialogue and promoting charitable initiatives.
