World Record: About 7.36 tonnes of pilaf cooked in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A world record on cooking pilaf was set in Uzbekistan as over 50 chefs cooked 7.36 tonnes of dish in Tashkent. The record was set within the Festival of traditional culture O‘zbegim in the Uzbek capital.

Abour 1,500 kg of beef, 400 kg of lamb, 220 kg of lamb fat, 1900 kg of rice, 2700 kg of carrots, 220 kg of onions, 440 liters of vegetable oil, 57 kg of salt, 100 kg of chick pea kg of raisins, 5 kg of zira, 2 kg of black peppercorns, 1 kg of turmeric and 350 liters of water were used to cook the pilaf.

Over 50 cooks from Uzbekistan cooked the pilaf within six hours. Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine produced cauldron with the weight of 7.07 tonnes and diameter of 4.2 meters and the volume of about 8,000 liters.

World Record: About 7.36 tonnes of pilaf cooked in Uzbekistan

Vice President Guinness World Records Richard Stening said that pilaf with the weight of 7.36 tonnes, prepared in Tashkent, included to the Guinness World Records. He handed over the certificate, confirming that the largest pilaf in the world was cooked in Uzbekistan.

The pilaf was distributed to children houses, houses of elder people and people with disabilities.
