Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 10 December 2019, the official opening of the Swiss Lab network of medical offices of the clinic-diagnostic laboratory for Swiss technologies took place in Tashkent.
This event was facilitated by a partnership between the Uzbek-Swiss joint venture Swiss Lab and the National Chamber of Innovative Health of Uzbekistan, which concluded a memorandum of cooperation on 14 January 2019. The memorandum was signed in Tashkent by the chairman of the National Chamber Rovshan Izamov and the general director of the Swiss Lab JV Natalya Dudkova.
Laboratories of this level belong to the so-called "reference laboratories", whose activities comply with all international standards. This is a very clear quality control, special reagents and much more, which guarantees an appropriate level of quality at each stage. Thus, international standards are introduced into the work of the healthcare system of Uzbekistan, which, inter alia, is one of the main tasks of the National Chamber of Innovative Health and has become the foundation of this cooperation.
At the first stage, these services will be provided throughout Tashkent, and further plans are to expand services throughout the country. This will be supported by the National Chamber, which has a network of branches in the regions of the country.
Director General of Swiss Lab JV Natalia Dudkova emphasized at the opening that the laboratory, offering patients more than 1,500 types of studies, provides quick and reliable results in all areas of clinical laboratory research.
“The uniqueness of the laboratory for the Republic of Uzbekistan also lies in the work of medical offices, at the opening of which we are present today. At present, there are 3 points for taking biological material, in the future it is planned to open another 25, which will ensure the availability of these services for the population throughout the Republic of Uzbekistan,” N. Dudkova said. Among the objectives of the project: the creation of the first genetic laboratory in the country with a wide range of studies, the organization of training of medical specialists of Uzbekistan with the involvement of international trainers.
As the chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan Rovshan Izamov noted in his speech, this project was created for the Uzbek people and is aimed at expanding access to unique internationally recognized technologies that are used in many countries of the world and which are now available for residents of Uzbekistan directly from their country.
“In fact, this is not the beginning of the project, it is a successful continuation of it. For almost a year now, the National Chamber of Innovative Health of Uzbekistan and the Swiss Lab company have been strategic partners in the implementation of this unique project. We are very pleased that today we can clearly demonstrate how the state, represented by state structures, the khokimiyat, can successfully cooperate and support a private investor. An investor who has expressed a desire to work in Uzbekistan and has truly innovative technologies in the field of medicine,” R. Izamov said.
He stressed that the project will be continued, issues of expanding the network are being studied both in the capital and in the regions of Uzbekistan. To date, with the support of the National Chamber, a series of negotiations has been organized with the leadership of the regions on this issue, so that residents of the country's regions have the opportunity to use high-tech diagnostic services.
Sharof Rakhmonov, deputy governor of Tashkent, also said about the support of the capital’s mayor's office in this project. He emphasized that the khokimiyat will always support promising proposals, the purpose of which is to make high-quality medical services for residents even more affordable.
Honorary guest of the ceremony, Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan Olivier Chave expressed hope that this initiative to introduce innovative diagnostic technologies in Uzbekistan will be seriously developed.
“I am sure that this enterprise will meet Swiss standards, which, as you know, means reliability, systematic quality, efficiency. I think that this model will be distributed throughout Uzbekistan. I express my gratitude to the National Chamber, the khokimiyat of the capital, without whose support the implementation of this project would not be possible,” said the Ambassador of Switzerland.
