Work is underway to eliminate damage due to heavy snowfall in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to a special warning letter from the Center for Hydrometeorology from 6 April 2020, the city of khokimiyat reported that heavy precipitation is expected on 7-9 April in the Republic of Uzbekistan (in some places with the transition to snow), a sharp decrease air temperatures up to 0-5 degrees, strong wind with a speed of up to 15-20 m/s, and in some regions up to 23-28 m/s.

As a result, on the night of 8–9 April, many trees were broken due to heavy snowfall, power outages, and gas pipeline damage.

In total, breakdowns occurred on 44 electric networks, in 31 cases of an accident they were eliminated before 10:00 today, repair works are underway on 13 electric networks.

There were also accidents on the gas pipeline in 20 locations, 7 of which were eliminated today before 10:00, in 13 cases repair work is currently underway.

Due to a break in gas and electricity networks, 7 local boiler houses (5 in Mirzo Ulugbek district and 2 in Shaikhantohur district) stopped their work.

They temporarily do not have the ability to supply heat to 148 multi-storey residential buildings.

Currently, all necessary measures are being taken to eliminate these circumstances. For the prompt elimination of accidents, all relevant forces and means of public utilities were brought in.

By the end of the working day, that is, until 18:00, the identified accidents will be completely eliminated.
