Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A woman, who contracted coronavirus, died from myocardial infarction in Namangan on 27 March 2020, the Uzbek Health Ministry said in a statement.
On 26 March, 72-year-old woman from Namangan, who was under medical supervision with chronic diseases, was placed at the regional infectious diseases hospital with confirmation of coronavirus infection presence. At about 23:00 the same day she had tested positive to COVID-19.
It was confirmed that the patient contracted the infection from her daughter M., who returned from Turkey on 12 March, COVID-19 was detected in her daughter and she was quarantined.
The patient passed treatment for many years for diabetes mellitus, chronic acute heart failure and other diseases. This morning, at about 04:30, despite the resuscitation measures carried out by doctors, she died of acute myocardial infarction.
At the same time, the agency noted that the number of coronavirus infections in Uzbekistan increased by 8 and reached 83 people.
It was confirmed that 5 people were infected in Tashkent and 3 in Andijan.
