Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures for the effective use of a grant from the Government of Japan to organize training for representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

According to the resolution, with the assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Government of Japan has allocated a grant of 263 million Japanese yen (equivalent to 2.48 million US dollars) for the training of representatives of Uzbekistan in 2020-2021 in master’s and doctoral studies at leading universities in Japan.

Applicants for training under these grants (18 people in magistracy and 1 person in doctoral studies) are selected from among persons working in government bodies, business associations, local government bodies.

The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, in agreement with the Japanese side, was instructed to draw up procedures for obtaining and servicing a grant within the framework of the project.

For information, over the past two years, within the framework of the JICA project for the provision of scholarships for training, 34 representatives of Uzbekistan have been sent to study at leading universities in Japan.
