With the assistance of Uzbekistan, a modular plant the production of vegetable oil will be opened in Mazar-e-Sharif

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 14 May, in the Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif, the ceremonial opening of a modular plant for the production of vegetable oil will be held, Dunyo reported.

This modular workshop was supplied by Al-Taminot LLC of Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of a contract signed between the parties with a total value of US$80,000.

It should be noted that in the summer of 2019, the Association of Uzyogmoysanoat (Uzbekistan) and the Main Department of State Enterprises and Companies of the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan signed a “Plan of Practical Measures” for the joint development of oil and fat enterprises in a neighboring state, which includes the modernization and reconstruction of three and the construction of new oil and fat production.

The opening ceremony of the new enterprise will be attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Y. Shodmonov, as well as a government delegation led by the Acting Minister of Finance of Afghanistan, Abdul Khodi Argandevol.

In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has gained new momentum. In January 2017, the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries took place in Tashkent. The appointment of a special representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan was the embodiment of the special attention paid by our country to bilateral relations.

There are great prospects for the development of cooperation in the trade, economic, transport, transit, energy, chemical, agricultural, educational, cultural and other fields, and the implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects.

A joint commission on cooperation in the field of trade, transport and energy has been created to effectively use the available opportunities. In Afghanistan, our country has implemented railway, energy and construction projects.

At the end of 2019, the volume of mutual trade reached more than 600 million dollars.
