Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 July at 1:00 p.m., the Emergency Situations Department of Tashkent Region received a report of a forest fire on the territory of the Burchmulla forestry enterprise in the Bostanlyk district, the Ministry of Emergency Situations press service reported.

The blaze broke out in a hilly area, where dry grass had caught fire. Fire and rescue units of the Tashkent region, forestry staff, and servicemen of the Ministry of Defense were deployed to battle the flames.

Thanks to swift response efforts, the fire was contained at 4:41 p.m. and fully extinguished by 5:12 p.m.

Officials noted that this was already the second fire in the Bostanlyk mountains within the past week. Earlier, on 24 July, about two hectares of dry grass and shrubs caught fire in the Khojikent mahalla, where helicopters of the Ministry of Defense Air Force were used to extinguish the blaze.
