Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the State Statistics Committee, 65,721 tons of vegetables were grown in the republic in the 1st quarter of 2021. This is a 5.0% increase compared to the same period of last year.

In the first quarter of 2021, 11.9% of vegetables grown are accounted for by farms, 67.3% – by dekhkan farms and 20.8% – by organizations engaged in agricultural activities.

The volume of grown vegetables by region:

Karakalpakstan – 617 tons

Andijan region – 3,809 tons

Bukhara region – 4,994 tons

Jizzakh region – 984 tons

Kashkadarya region – 3,202 tons

Navoi region – 2,587 tons

Namangan region – 2,030 tons

Samarkand region – 2,910 tons

Surkhandarya region – 19,346 tons

Syrdarya region – 1,236 tons

Tashkent region – 13,808 tons
