Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 19 August, sessions of the Tashkent and Kashkadarya regional councils of people’s deputies were held in the form of videoconference. They were attended by Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis T. Narbaeva and Deputy Chairman of the upper house of parliament Z. Nizamkhodjaev.

It was noted that during the video conference held on 12 August under the chairmanship of the President, the issues of cardinal improvement of the quality of medical services provided to the population were discussed in detail, and the head of state gave instructions to progressively ease quarantine rules.

At the sessions, it was noted that effective work is being carried out in our country to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, continue production during a pandemic, ensure food security, provide comprehensive support to families in need of social protection, and reduce poverty.

In particular, more than 20 decrees and resolutions adopted by the head of state in this direction are important for supporting business entities and further improving the living standards of the population.

It was emphasized at the sessions that it is necessary to learn how to work in a pandemic, to strictly adhere to the established quarantine rules. Senators and deputies should not stand aside in the implementation of these measures.

In particular, it was noted that senators and deputies, as representatives of the people, should carry out explanatory work among the population of their territory, involve members of the Youth Parliament in this process.

In addition, they noted the need for parliamentary control over issues of public health protection during a pandemic, the expenditure of allocated funds, the inclusion of the needy layers of the population in the "iron notebook".

The reports of the heads of the health departments were also heard. The discussion centered on such issues as the general situation related to the coronavirus pandemic in the region, the state of medical services for the population during the pandemic, disinfection work, and incentives for medical personnel.
