Wenzhou Launches First Cargo Flight to Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s My Freighter airline operated its first B767 cargo flight from Longwan International Airport in Wenzhou to Tashkent, inaugurating a new direct freight route between Eastern China and Central Asia, according to local media.

The inaugural flight carried 50 tons of goods linked to cross-border e-commerce, the Zhejiang Daily reported. The route launch coincides with seasonal peak sales periods, including Black Friday and Christmas, and aims to strengthen logistics networks for e-commerce companies in Zhejiang province and neighboring regions.

With this new connection, Wenzhou Airport now serves 11 international cargo routes across Southeast, Northeast, and Central Asia. Analysts note that these routes also provide alternative transit channels for exporting Chinese goods to Europe via cross-border e-commerce networks.

Wenzhou is one of China’s leading e-commerce hubs. Local authorities plan to double the city’s e-commerce export volume by 2027 compared with 2024, positioning Wenzhou among the top three export centers in Zhejiang province alongside Yiwu.
