Web Summit Spotlight to Take Place in Tashkent for the First Time in Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent will host Web Summit Spotlight for the first time, a special edition of one of the world’s most prestigious technology forums.
The event is organized by IT Park Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with Web Summit.
The flagship Web Summit, held annually in Lisbon, attracts over 70,000 participants, including startup founders, executives of global corporations, investors, and researchers. Hosting Spotlight in Tashkent marks the expansion of the forum’s geography, which already includes Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Doha, providing Central Asia with direct access to global networking and investment opportunities.
International experts, venture capital representatives, and industry leaders will gather on one platform in Tashkent.
Expected speakers include representatives from Plug and Play Tech Center, StartupBlink, GB Ventures, Ernst & Young, DOMiNO Ventures, Rasmal Ventures, Heartfelt Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Caucasus Ventures, and other global players.
Special attention will be given to the investment climate in the region and Uzbekistan’s role in the global startup ecosystem. In 2025, the country jumped 12 positions in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index by StartupBlink, and experts will present an analysis of the factors behind this progress.
The Spotlight program will feature panel discussions, thematic presentations, and 1:1 meetings with venture funds in the Investors’ Room. Topics include digital transformation, corporate strategies for entering new markets, XR and AI prospects, and practical cases of successful business scaling in Central Asia.
“Web Summit Spotlight in Tashkent sends a clear signal to the global industry: Central Asia is now part of the global technology agenda. We are creating conditions where international companies and investors see the country as a reliable platform for scaling, and startups find new growth opportunities,” said Abdulahad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan.
The event will be held on 27 September 2025, at the Ministry of Digital Technologies building in Tashkent.
