Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to establish the production of waste-processing equipment in cooperation with the Turkish company MT Makina, according to the Waste Management Agency.
The agency’s director, Sharifbek Khasanov, held negotiations with the company’s management during the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Türkiye.
The talks focused on cooperation in the development of waste processing and management facilities, as well as the localized production of the necessary equipment.
Under the agreements reached, projects with a total value of US$10 million will be implemented in the Samarkand region. The main construction and installation works are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
As part of the projects, a municipal solid waste sorting station with a capacity of 500 tonnes per day will be built, along with a plant capable of producing up to 1,000 units of containers and specialized municipal equipment annually.
The joint ventures are expected to create 100 new jobs, with an operational lifespan projected at 20 years.
These initiatives are aimed at developing waste management infrastructure and enhancing the environmental sustainability of the region.
