Volume of Telecommunications Services in Uzbekistan Exceeds 13.9 Trillion Soums in First Seven Months of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–July 2025, the volume of telecommunications services in Uzbekistan reached 13.9 trillion soums, 10.5 percent higher than in the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Telecommunications services accounted for 33.4 percent of the total structure of communications and informatization services.

Investments in the information and communications sector in 2024 amounted to 16.7 trillion soums, representing 3.3 percent of the total fixed capital investments across all sectors of the economy and social spheres of the country (507.5 trillion soums). The bulk of these funds was directed to communications activities, which accounted for 2.2 percent of total investment.

The dynamics of investment in the information and communications sector over the years shows significant growth: 1.1 trillion soums in 2016, 1.9 trillion soums in 2017, 1.6 trillion soums in 2018, 2.7 trillion soums in 2019, 9 trillion soums in 2020, 9 trillion soums in 2021, 6.9 trillion soums in 2022, 8.8 trillion soums in 2023, and 16.7 trillion soums in 2024.

By region, the largest volume of telecommunications services in the first seven months of 2025 was recorded in the capital, at 5,853.4 billion soums.

It was followed by Fergana region (1,018 billion soums), Samarkand region (1,000.6 billion soums), Andijan region (793.8 billion soums), Tashkent region (743 billion soums), Kashkadarya region (720.6 billion soums), Namangan region (701.8 billion soums), Surkhandarya region (565 billion soums), Bukhara region (559.1 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (524.9 billion soums), Khorezm region (516.1 billion soums), Navoi region (339.5 billion soums), Jizzakh region (328.9 billion soums), and Syrdarya region (255 billion soums).
