Volume of deposits of population of Uzbekistan in banks hits 14.7 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of deposits of the population of Uzbekistan in banks in 2018 reached 14.7 trillion soums, which is 21.2% more than in 2017.

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, deposits in national currency increased by 38.2% - to 8.9 trillion soums. Share of deposits in national currency in total deposits increased from 53% in 2017 to 61% in 2018.

The population of Uzbekistan stores 5.8 trillion soums in deposits in foreign currency, which is 2% higher compared to 2017. Their share in total deposits of the population decreased from 47% to 39%.
