Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
In accordance with the Law, the Criminal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Code of Administrative Responsibility have been amended in connection with the liberalization of the liability of foreign citizens and stateless persons for violating the rules of temporary stay in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the article stipulating liability for violation of the rules of stay in Uzbekistan was excluded from the Criminal Code.
Also, the Code on Administrative Responsibility includes a provision stipulating that a foreign citizen and a stateless person permanently residing in Uzbekistan under the age of 18 are not subject to administrative responsibility for late receipt of a residence permit due to 16 years of age.
This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
