Videoconference takes place with compatriots in Italy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Rome organized an online video conference with students from Uzbekistan studying in Italian universities, Dunyo reported.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov, the representative of JSC Uzbekistan Airways in Rome, Hushnud Artykov, as well as other members of the Operational Headquarters at the diplomatic mission, provided compatriots with detailed information on measures taken by the governments of Uzbekistan and Italy to combat coronavirus. They gave explanations about the possibilities of extending expired visas and obtaining a residence permit in Italy without penalties. The readiness of the diplomatic mission to support Uzbek students in resolving their problems, including issues with the Italian authorities, university rectors, and also in organizing their departure to Tashkent with the resumption of flights was emphasized.

It was once again noted that from 1 March, the Operational Headquarters has been operating during the diplomatic mission, which operates around the clock to stabilize the epidemiological situation associated with the spread of COVID-19 in Italy.

Citizens of Uzbekistan are advised to strictly adhere to the restrictive and preventive precautions introduced by the Italian government.

During the video conference, students were interested in the timing of the resumption of air travel, the procedure for returning to Italy students who left for Uzbekistan in connection with the spread of coronavirus, the prospects and forms of continuing education, and other issues.

Students positively accepted the call of the Embassy to get involved in attracting investments and advanced technologies from Italy to Uzbekistan, increasing domestic exports to this country, as well as Italian tourist flow to the republic, after normalizing the epidemiological situation in the two countries.

Along with this, some students, for example, Zhasurbek Bahramov, who is doing an internship at one of the prestigious Italian research centers, the International School of Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste, called for joint work with the diplomatic mission to attract positive experience of Italy in the field of education, science and digital technology.

The participants in the videoconference expressed their readiness to provide mutual assistance and moral support, to share important and useful information with each other, including on issues of resolving emerging social problems.
