Vice Premiers of Uzbekistan and Bulgaria discuss development of bilateral relations
The Uzbek side informed Mr. Simeonov about the changes in the social and economic sphere that are taking place in the Republic of Uzbekistan, namely, the implementation of comprehensive reforms aimed at further development and liberalization of the economy of Uzbekistan. Also, the work currently under way in Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the achievement of acceptable conditions for Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO was mentioned.
During the meeting it was noted that the priority direction of the development of bilateral relations is the further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria. Also, issues of cooperation in transport, logistics, investment and agriculture were raised.
As it was noted by the delegation of Uzbekistan, the regular meetings of the Uzbek-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation (IPC) play an important role in ensuring further expansion of cooperation in the above-mentioned sectors.
"The Uzbek side views the Commission as an important and effective mechanism for developing and promoting new joint projects with the participation of Bulgarian companies in the Republic of Uzbekistan," Deputy Prime Minister Nodir Otajanov emphasized.
