Vice-premiers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmedov was held in Baku in the building of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sherzod Faiziyev, representatives of ministries and departments of the social bloc of the Government of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani side highly appreciated the results of the social policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed at further improving the standard of living and well-being of the country’s citizens. The deputy head of the government was particularly interested in the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan in the field of pre-school education, which, he said, will have a positive impact on the future economic development of the republic.
“We are very pleased with the high success of brotherly Uzbekistan. We are confident that soon your country will achieve its goal, taking its rightful place among the developed countries of the world, ”A. Ahmedov said. There is a great potential in the field of tourism, the realization of which can bring our countries and peoples closer together.
According to the vice-premier, “Azerbaijan admires the historical cities of Uzbekistan, Bukhara and Samarkand are very popular among the local population.”
The parties welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of education and science between the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" and the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management. It was expressed confidence that this document will lay the foundation for cooperation in personnel training.
An agreement was also reached on enhancing cultural exchange by holding mutual days of culture and cinema, organizing visits and tours of famous artists of both countries.
In the field of education, an agreement was reached on the participation of Uzbek specialists in internships at the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry.
