Uzneftegazinspektsiya continues to identify large thefts of natural and liquefied gas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Despite numerous warnings and fines, individual business representatives, as well as residents of the republic, continue to maliciously violate the rules for receiving and using natural gas.

It must be remembered that an erratic, unauthorized connection to gas networks is one of the main causes of gas shortages and interruptions. These violations and impunity of violators contribute to the lack of public control and the indifference of citizens to such facts.

So, during regular preventive measures in Angren, it turned out that some “interested” persons of the gas supply organization pursue personal interests in the process of distributing liquefied gas to the population.

During the month of August of this year, in this city, while checking the mechanism for distributing liquefied gas in gas cylinders, the fact of its illegal disposal in the amount of 83.860 kg for 344 million 35 thousand soums was discovered.

In addition, during an oral conversation on the ground with consumers of liquefied natural gas, facts of artificially increased prices were discovered when, according to consumers, they pay an average of 23-24 thousand soums per 20 kg of liquefied gas, instead of 19 thousand soums set by the state on preferential basis. Documents with facts about illegal write-offs and artificially high prices were submitted to law enforcement agencies to take appropriate measures.

Also on 30 August, Uzneftegazinspektsia carried out preventive measures for illegal connections to gas supplies in Yukorichirchik district of Tashkent region. The fact of gas theft in a bitumen production workshop owned by Yuksak Parranda LLC through illegal connection to gas supply in the amount of 299 thousand 140 cubic meters of natural gas was revealed, which makes up 298 million 616 thousand soums.

In general, for the period from 16 to 30 August throughout the republic as a result of the measures taken by Uzneftegazinspektsiya, 133 wholesale consumers were identified who illegally used natural gas with a total volume of 2 million 98 thousand cubic meters worth more than 1 billion 698 million soums.

In particular, in Navoi region, the fact of illegal use of gas in a lime production workshop owned by Zarafshon Golden Group LLC with a volume of 315 thousand cubic meters worth more than 314 million amounts was revealed. In Samarkand region, natural gas was illegally used in the facing brick production workshop of Fortuna Gold Invest Ltd LLC, in the amount of 282 thousand cubic meters worth more than 99 million sums.

In Tashkent region, the facts of illegal use of natural gas with a total volume of 602 thousand cubic meters worth more than 503 million soums were revealed in poultry farms and in bitumen and lime production workshops owned by organizations of ProgressAgroBusiness LLC, Dong San LLC, GlassTechServis LLC.

Since the beginning of this year, about 2,000 cases of illegal consumption of natural gas have been identified, the relevant documents have been submitted to law enforcement agencies to take appropriate measures.

It must be remembered that theft leads to shortages of such valuable raw materials as gas to the population. This damages the country’s economy, taking into account the ever-widening mechanism of employment in the country. Also, dishonesty of those responsible leads to undermining the confidence of the population in the efforts undertaken by the leadership of Uzbekistan.
