Uzmetkombinat, TMK Sign Strategic Cooperation Deal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 March 2026, ahead of the expected state visit of the President of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, JSC Uzmetkombinat and the Tajik Metallurgical Plant signed a memorandum on strategic cooperation.
The document provides for the development of a long-term partnership in the supply of raw materials. In particular, starting from the third quarter of 2027, Uzmetkombinat plans to purchase up to 300,000 tonnes of direct reduced iron (DRI) annually from the Tajik side.
The memorandum was signed by Chairman of the Board and CEO of Uzmetkombinat Bakhodir Abdullaev and Director General of the Tajik Metallurgical Plant Sharipov.
The parties noted that the implementation of these agreements will strengthen the raw material base of the metallurgical industry and expand industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. The agreement is expected to contribute to deeper bilateral economic ties and the development of industrial integration.
