Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Movement of entrepreneurs and business people - The Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, according to preliminary results of the elections held on Sunday, won the majority of seats in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

According to the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov, the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) won 43 seats in the Legislative Chamber, the Democratic Party of Milliy Tiklanish - 35, the Social Democratic Party of Adolat - 21, the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan - 18 and the Ecological Party - 11.

Deputies to the lower house of parliament were elected in 128 of the 150 constituencies. Repeated elections will be held in 22 constituencies.

The head of the CEC noted that 13 million 963 thousand 627 voters or 67.8% of voters took part in the vote.

At 55 polling stations created at the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in 40 countries, 112 thousand 411 voters out of registered 1 million 697 thousand 647 voted.

At the same time, 150 thousand voters used the right to early voting, which took place on 12–18 December.
