UzLiDep implements projects to support women

The party pays special attention to activities of its women’s wing, which in cooperation with faction of UzLiDeP at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and several leading commercial banks implement several projects such as “Healthy family – strong family”, “Principles of entrepreneurship and business opportunities”, “Healthy family – strong family”.

These projects are directed at creating new jobs through supporting women, who want to launch their family businesses and attracting them to business. Besides, the projects help to reveal women with business potential and the party provided practical assistance to them in launching their businesses.

The project “From family entrepreneurship – to strong family” was launched in 2011 and over 30,000 women attended the training. The commercial banks issued loans for about 6 billion soums to 800 women and it helped to create 1,200 new jobs.

Muhlisa Akramov, deputy chairperson of the Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP, said that the party pays great attention to promote and develop family entrepreneurship in separate regions of Uzbekistan. She said that the law “On family entrepreneurship” is explained to women to improve their legal knowledge on doing businesses.

Another project is “Healthy family – strong family”, within which 650 events were held in 2011-2013. About 27,000 women participate in them and 1,500 women underwent free medical examination. During the events, talks about health of women, firmness of families, negative consequences of early marriages, marriages between relations and others were held.

Within the project “Principles of entrepreneurship and business opportunities”, “Healthy family – strong family”, the party held over 1,000 events, which was attended by over 25,000 women. Akramov said that this year the party plans to expand projects and reach positive results.

Head of private enterprise Dil Feruz in Ferghana region Dilafruz Umrzakova opened sewing shop two years ago and started to produce children clothes and bedclothes. In past period, she provided jobs to four women and attracted two women to outwork. She participated in UzLiDeP project and launched production of confectionary products.

Gulnara Ulmasova from Gulistan city, head of Razok Hamkor Nursulton family enterprise, said that she wanted to open her own business after attending seminars within the projects of UzLiDeP. She said that seminars serve as bridge between financial institutions and young businesses and help women to begin their businesses.

Sevara Muslimova, head of department on raising activity, role and authority of women in the society of the Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP, said that within the general agreement, the party wants to implement new project “Farmers movement – decisive public-political power”. The project envisages to raise social-economic, political-legal knowledge and skills of women, create new jobs in places.

Overall, the projects of UzLiDeP are directed to increase number of businesswomen and help to develop their businesses, she said. She called the women actively participate in the projects of the party.
