UzLiDeP holds roundtable “Country, where women esteemed and respected”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Women’s Wing of Tashkent regional Council of Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan held a roundtable titled “Country, where women esteemed and respected”, which was dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of Independence Day of Uzbekistan.

Members of UzLiDeP, MPs, female farmers, young athletes, writers, representatives of NGOs and others participated in the event.

During the event, the participants underlined that over 80 legal documents were adopted to increase role and status of women in the society, protection of their legal, social, economic and spiritual rights.

At the event, the participants discussed participation of women in the life of the government and the public, implementation of the goals and tasks of UzLiDeP, participation of women in this process.

It was said that 8,500 members of the party from 28,000 people are women. Among them 1,669 are businesswomen and 550 are farmers. It was underlined that there are necessity to train women to do business and create jobs in the rural areas.

One of key goals of the party is to promote best practices of businesswomen, farmers, craftswomen and help women to launch their own businesses.

The participants watched a film about women and girls, who achieved high results in various areas during independence years of Uzbekistan. The exhibition of products of businesswomen and farmers was also held.
