At the seminar, the participants discussed reforms in Uzbekistan directed at improving competitiveness of economy, technological and technical re-equipment of production capacities, etc.
It was noted that Uzbekistan adopted a programme of measures on ensuring structureal reforms, modernization and diversification of production for 2015-2019. It envisages implementation of 876 projects for over US$41 billion in five years. It is planned to realize 354 new projects in industry for US$32.3 billion to organize production capacities.
The participants noted Tashkent hosted an International Investment Forum in November, which was attended by representatives of 560 companies from 33 states. The investment agreements for over US$12 billion were signed within it.
The event attendees considered improving activities of the small businesses as well. It was stated that small business play importance role in improving competitiveness of the country’s economy.
It was underlined that it is necessary to replace old equipment and introduce modern and energy- and resource-saving equipments.
The participants developed recommendations and proposals on considered issues.
