Uzkimyosanoat to realize projects for US$2.65bn by 2021

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Joint stock company Uzkimyosanoat (Uzbek Chemical Industry) plans to realize projects with total cost of US$2.65 billion by the end of 2020, the chairperson of the board of the enterprise Normat Ibragimov said in an article, published in local Norodnoye Slovo.

Ibragimov said that the leadership of Uzbekistan approved a programme of developing chemical industry till 2020. The programme was adopted in order to improve structure reforms in economy and modernize and diversify chemical industry, expand volume and nomenclature of ready export oriented goods.

Within the programme, it is planned to realize 23 projects with total cost of US$2.65 billion.

In the result, the industry will launch production of 15 new goods – PVC, tires, washing powder, etc.

According to him, the commodity output in 2020 should amount to about US$1.8 billion or by 2 times by 2016.

Navoiazot, a largest chemical plant in Uzbekistan, is working on realization of three large investment projects for US$1.8 billion.

In particular, a consortium CAMCE Engineering and HQC Shanghai (China) are realizing project on organization of production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and caustic soda and methanol.

In collaboration with the Japanese consortium Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Navoiazor is constructing new capacities on production of ammonia and carbamide.

Navoiazot and Swiss company Casale are working on modernization of the capacities on production of nitric acid.
