UZCE Trading Lab: Bridging Theory and Financial Practice

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Republican Currency Exchange (UZCE), in cooperation with the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, has launched the UZCE Trading Lab educational initiative. The project brings together young specialists and the regulator's scholarship recipients to build practical skills and a deep understanding of financial market mechanisms.

The primary goal of the program is to go beyond theoretical concepts by providing participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in real-world processes, modeling market operations in conditions closely resembling reality.

Rashid Usmanov, Director General of the UZCE, delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized that the sustainable development of the financial sector directly depends on the preparation of qualified personnel capable of adapting to the dynamics of the modern economy. Special attention was paid to the strategic partnership between the Central Bank and the Exchange as an effective platform for the professional growth of young experts.

During the theoretical segment, participants were introduced to the activities of the UZCE, its role in the national economy, and its key development directions. Experts provided a detailed review of exchange infrastructure principles, trading participation conditions, and mechanisms for interacting with financial markets.

The practice-oriented portion of the program focused on the foreign exchange and money markets. Exchange experts used specific examples to demonstrate the full cycle of working with financial instruments, including deal execution mechanisms and the operational features of trading platforms.

A highlight of the session was the trading simulation, where participants acted as traders, making decisions and conducting transactions in real-time. Following each scenario, specialists from the Central Bank and the UZCE conducted detailed debriefs, providing professional commentary and recommendations.

The program also included an interactive quiz on financial and economic topics, adding a competitive element to the event. Participants demonstrated high levels of preparation and engagement, with winners receiving commemorative prizes from the Exchange.

The UZCE Trading Lab initiative marks a significant step in the development of practical education within the financial sector. This first session serves as the beginning of a series of regular programs for students of specialized universities, aimed at cultivating a new generation of professionals equipped to work effectively with modern financial instruments and market infrastructure.
