Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Analysts of Aviasales.uz conducted a study on domestic flights and found out that during the pandemic, Uzbeks began to travel around the country more often. The demand for domestic routes grew 2.5 times compared to 2019.

“While international destinations were closed, we saw a constant growth in demand for domestic destinations. Uzbekistanis have begun to use the opportunity to travel around their native country,” says Ruslan Baiganurov, head of Aviasales.uz. 

The most popular domestic destination in Uzbekistan in 2021 is Tashkent-Nukus. The average cost of a flight per person is US$48. Among domestic destinations, the cheapest flights were from Tashkent to Ferghana with an average cost of US$17. The most expensive flight is between Tashkent and the city of Urgench, such a flight will cost an average of US$50 one way.

On average, Uzbeks spend 3 days on a trip to another city and most often fly on weekends and holidays.
