Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 July 2020, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullaev and President of the South Korean company SK Engineering & Construction Jason Ann signed an agreement on the modernization and reconstruction of the Bukhara Oil Refinery. This was reported by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
Also, within the framework of the project “Modernization and reconstruction of the Bukhara Oil Refinery”, an engineering agreement was signed between Bukhara Oil Refinery and Honeywell UOP (USA) to develop a project documentation package (PDP) and a license agreement for the provision of technical licenses.
The project “Modernization and reconstruction of the Bukhara Oil Refinery” aims to increase the depth of processing of existing capacities from 79% to 95%, the yield of light petroleum products from 77% to 91%, and the production of petroleum products that meet the requirements of the Euro 5 standard.
Within the framework of this project, it is planned to build installations for hydrotreating common naphtha, isomerizing light naphtha, short-cycle adsorption to increase the purity of hydrogen and a complex for catalytic cracking of fuel oil, as well as reconstructing installations for the amine purification of acid gases, hydrotreating gas oil and atmospheric distillation of oil and gas condensate mixtures.
It should be noted that one of the world’s leading companies in the design and construction of petrochemical and energy industries Honeywell UOP is a contractor licensor and contractor of technological equipment and has participated in more than 20 major projects in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Among them is the process of drying and purifying gas from mercaptans at the Kandym gas processing plant.
