Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Large-scale exploration and exploration work was carried out to increase natural gas production in Uzbekistan.
The Janubiy Akkum field in Karakul district of Bukhara region was selected for exploration drilling within the framework of the Program for the Development and Reproduction of the Hydrocarbon Raw Material Base. This was reported by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.
The Janubiy Akkum field is located near the Akkum and Garbi Khuja gas condensate fields and the work done in five months has borne fruit, a stream of natural gas has been produced from exploration well No. 1.
On 17 March 2020, drilling of an exploration well No. 1 began at the Janubiy Akkum field to study the oil and gas potential of the Jurassic deposits and was drilled to a depth of 2175 meters.
As a result of testing the well in an open hole while drilling in the interval of 2175-2115 m, an industrial flow of natural gas was obtained (from the XV-1, XV-2 horizons) and a new gas condensate field was discovered.
At present, the daily flow of natural gas from this well is 150-200 thousand cubic meters.
In the near future, gas condensate studies will be carried out in the well to determine the actual well flow rate and reservoir parameters.
