Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As a result of drilling work carried out in Jondor district of Bukhara region, it was found that there is an influx of natural gas at the 2105-2054 meter well.
As part of the "Program for the development and reproduction of the hydrocarbon-raw material base for JSC Uzbekneftegaz" for 2020, drilling works are being carried out at the Shorkum field in order to ensure the resource base of producing enterprises.
The Shorkum deposit is located in Jondor district of Bukhara region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, near the Andakli, Parsankul and Western Khoji deposits.
Search well No. 2 began drilling on November 11, 2019 to study the oil and gas potential of Jurassic deposits and was drilled to a depth of 2105 m. As a result of testing the well in an open hole during drilling in the interval 2105-2054 m, an industrial flow of natural gas was obtained (from XV-1, XV-2 horizons) with a preliminary flow rate of up to 200 thousand m3 per day.
Currently, well testing has been completed and drilling is ongoing to study terrigenous Jurassic deposits.
According to the project, the well will continue to deepen to a depth of 2850 meters and test possible productive Lower Jurassic horizons.
