Uzbekneftegaz denies arrest of workers at Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex

The company said that there was inaccurate report on arrest of the group of workers at construction site of Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex due to conflict with administration on salary cuts.

Construction of Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex is conducted within a wide-scale programme on modernization of industry of Uzbekistan, the company said.

Total project cost is US$3.9 billion. It is financed due to direct investments of founders such as Kogas, Lotte, STX Eenergy and Uzbekneftegaz for US$1.4 billion and loans for US$2.5 billion.

Uz-Kor Gas Chemical, which professionally manages all working processes, pays great attention to cadre policy. All issues related with employment are conducted in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan and agreements signed by employers and employees.

The company said that there were no conflict at Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex and construction works are underway.
