Uzbekistan’s WTO Accession Working Party to Meet in November
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 11th meeting of the Working Party on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will take place on 5–6 November 2025 in Geneva, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for WTO Affairs, Azizbek Urunov, announced.
“The next, 11th Working Party meeting on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession will be held in person at the organization’s headquarters on 5–6 November,” Urunov wrote on his LinkedIn page.
According to him, this will be the sixth consecutive meeting since 2023, while previous sessions took place in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2020, and 2022.
“This is another important milestone in the country’s WTO accession process. We are grateful to the members of the organization for supporting Uzbekistan’s efforts and are ready to resolve the remaining issues,” Urunov emphasized.
Uzbekistan plans to complete the accession process before the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference, scheduled for 2026 in Cameroon.
To date, the republic has concluded 29 market access agreements and reached preliminary agreements with two additional countries. To finalize bilateral negotiations, terms still need to be agreed upon with three more states.
