Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with John Zaidi, head of ACWA Power’s representative office in Uzbekistan, to discuss prospects for strengthening cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in green technologies.

The meeting emphasized the crucial role of friendly relations and the political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in fostering dynamic bilateral partnerships. Special attention was given to advancing major investment projects, particularly in the energy sector.

According to the Senate, Saudi Arabia’s total investment in Uzbekistan’s economy has reached $27.3 billion, covering 59 different projects. ACWA Power has established itself as a strategic partner in green energy, contributing to the modernization of Uzbekistan’s energy infrastructure and the introduction of eco-friendly technologies across the country.

The company is also actively supporting the development of green hydrogen in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, projects related to the construction of hydrogen facilities were highlighted as promising and essential for the country’s sustainable development.

The parties also discussed the development of a regulatory framework for implementing strategic environmental protection and green energy programs. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the continuation and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the long term.
