Uzbekistan’s retail trade turnover reaches 11.978 trln soums in 1H 2011

The committee said that in the structure of retail trade turnover, the share of food products was 49.5% and that of non-food products – 50.5% (in January-June 2010 – 49.8% and 50.2% respectively).

In January-June 2011, the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached 5.22 trillion soums or increased by 14.4% in comparison with January-June 2010. In the structure of the retail trade the turnover of trade enterprises was 43.6%.

In the total turnover of trade enterprises, the share of the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises in the rural area was 22%.

The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dekhkan markets increased by 18.1% and reached 4.327 trillion soums, the share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 36.1%.

The goods turnover of commodity and specialized markets was 2.432 trillion soums or grew by 9.4% year-on-year. The share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 20.3%.
