Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected household appliance production at the Ferre Group facility in the Urgut Free Economic Zone on Tuesday and discussed plans to expand the company’s export capacity, according to the presidential press service.

Ferre Group exports to Central Asian markets and Azerbaijan. The project cost US$30 million and was financed through foreign investment and preferential bank loans. The enterprise employs about 1,000 people. Components used in production come from suppliers including Embraco, LG, DOW and Midea, while equipment was sourced from Germany, Türkiye, Italy and China.
During the visit, Mirziyoyev discussed expanding the product range to meet international standards and strengthening the company’s presence abroad. He stressed the importance of creating added value and jobs through manufacturing complexes in the Urgut free economic zone.
The president also reviewed several investment projects in Samarkand region, including the construction of a multidisciplinary medical facility with Turkish partners, the launch of pharmaceutical production with a Chinese firm, and initiatives in sericulture, metallurgy, construction materials and technology parks. Officials expect these projects to generate more than 2,000 jobs.
