Uzbekistan’s President Concludes Working Visit to Saint Petersburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The events of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Saint Petersburg have concluded.

On December 21, the head of state addressed the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where key issues related to the expansion of multilateral economic cooperation were discussed.

On the same day, a ceremony was held to present the Lev (Leo) Tolstoy International Peace Prize to the President of Uzbekistan, as well as to the Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Today, Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an informal summit of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States, during which opinions were exchanged on the main areas of cooperation within the CIS framework. As part of the cultural program of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan also toured the State Hermitage Museum.

At the conclusion of the working visit, the head of state departed from Pulkovo International Airport bound for Tashkent.

The distinguished guest was seen off by the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, along with other official representatives.
