Uzbekistan’s National Committee on Statistics and IOM Sign Cooperation Memorandum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 November 2025, the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics hosted a meeting with representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Ziyovuddin Ziyaev, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee, staff from the central office, Andrew Gray, Head of IOM’s Uzbekistan Office, and other representatives of the international organization.
The parties discussed cooperation in conducting population and agricultural censuses and signed a “roadmap” and a bilateral memorandum on joint implementation of activities in these areas.
The signed roadmap outlines support for promoting census-related initiatives, raising public awareness, conducting scientific research, and organizing joint information campaigns. Planned activities include the preparation of banners and video materials, as well as contests for journalists and bloggers. International experts will also contribute to the development of the “Demographic Atlas of Uzbekistan.”
Additionally, both sides agreed to further expand cooperation, introduce modern information technologies into the census process, and exchange international experience in this field.
