Uzbekistan’s National Children’s Medical Center to introduce international treatment protocols

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The National Children’s Medical Center of Uzbekistan, together with the Yansan Hospital of Pusan National University (Republic of Korea), is launching the full implementation of international treatment protocols, according to the Ministry of Health.

A cooperation memorandum has been signed, under which the first stage of the project will begin in February 2026. Korean specialists will visit the center, assess current protocols and provide recommendations.

The second stage, scheduled for May 2026, will include a visit to Yansan Hospital by a working group of 15 department heads and leading specialists from the center. The trip will be supported by a KOICA grant of about US$200,000, allowing Uzbek doctors to study advanced treatment methods and upgrade their qualifications.

By the end of 2026, international treatment protocols are expected to be fully integrated into the center’s clinical practice. Yansan Hospital is one of the world’s largest multidisciplinary medical institutions, accredited by JCI and known for its high standards of service.

Uzbekistan’s National Children’s Medical Center — established on the initiative of the President — became the first state medical institution in the country to receive JCI international accreditation.

In 2025, the center treated over 94,000 patients and performed 6,350 surgical operations, more than 5,000 of which were high-tech interventions.
