Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport and World Bank Discuss Development of Transport Infrastructure
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 August, First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamambiy Omarov held a meeting with Vinny Wee, Head of the World Bank Infrastructure Group for Central Asia.
During the talks, World Bank representatives presented a series of proposals aimed at further developing and modernizing Uzbekistan’s transport system.
The parties exchanged views on the implementation of major joint projects already underway and discussed promising directions for future cooperation.
Particular attention was given to improving transport infrastructure, digitalizing the sector, enhancing the network of transport routes between the country’s largest cities, developing urban micromobility, and upgrading the skills of specialists and passenger transport drivers.
