Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice Warns Against Illegal Use of Brands on Social Media

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In today’s digital landscape, social media pages have become an important tool for promoting products and attracting customers.

However, not all entrepreneurs comply with the law, with some using others’ trademarks in ways that mislead consumers.

Recently, the Ministry of Justice reviewed a complaint from citizen Z. Zuparkhodjaev regarding a violation of the trademark “LA KANDIL” by LLC “N.K.”.

The investigation revealed that the company operated an Instagram page under the name “neo.kandil,” which closely resembles the registered brand and could mislead consumers.

As a result, the Ministry of Justice issued a warning to LLC “N.K.” regarding potential legal liability and required the page name to be changed.

The Ministry urges entrepreneurs to register their own brands and, if cases of illegal use are detected, to report them via the trusted line 1008 or by email at info@adliya.uz.
