Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Discusses Space Program Development with NEC

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit by the delegation of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies to Australia, Minister Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting in Sydney with Taro Shimizu, head of the space division at Japan’s NEC Corporation.

NEC is a global leader in information and communication technologies, electronics, and the space industry, implementing major projects in satellite systems, ground stations, space observation, and communication infrastructure.

The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation in space technologies, including the development of satellite programs in Uzbekistan, the processing and application of space data across various sectors, the deployment of communication and observation systems via space, as well as personnel training and knowledge exchange.

Particular attention was given to the joint implementation of practical projects, the launch of research and innovation initiatives, and the expansion of long-term partnership in this field.
