Uzbekistan’s MFA Reports Death of Student in Shooting at Brown University

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has reported the death of Uzbek citizen Muhammadaziz Umurzokov, a student, in a tragic shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. The ministry expressed its deep condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased.

The foreign ministry emphasized that the loss of an innocent life is a profound tragedy and a cause of deep sorrow.

Uzbek diplomatic missions in the United States are maintaining constant contact with the student’s family.

Authorities are working together with the relevant U.S. agencies to resolve all organizational and legal matters related to the incident.
