Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry Delegation Participates in International Police Summit in Seoul
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov, took part in the Fifth International Police Summit held on 21–23 October in Seoul.
Organized by the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea, the summit focused on combating international crime and strengthening law enforcement cooperation. One of the largest forums of its kind, the event brought together over 90 participants from more than 30 countries.
Sessions addressed the challenges facing police forces amid global changes, ways to enhance law enforcement operations in the digital age, and innovative approaches to ensuring public safety. Special attention was given to fostering bilateral and multilateral cooperation and developing strategic solutions for effective policing.
During the summit, Minister Tashpulatov met with Acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency of Korea Yu Jae-Sung. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and South Korea, including strengthening the legal framework for collaboration, joint efforts against transnational crime, maintaining public order and safety, and exchanging expertise and training programs.
The Uzbek delegation also participated in the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the National Police Agency of Korea and visited the Korea Police World Expo-2025. There, delegates familiarized themselves with cybercrime units, modern IT solutions, and innovative policing technologies.
The visit included the Korean National Police University, where Uzbek officials studied police training and professional development systems and exchanged experiences in law enforcement education. The delegation also observed the operations of Seoul’s police aviation unit, responsible for public safety using drones, helicopters, and other aerial assets.
Participation in such international events helps strengthen partnerships between police organizations, facilitates the exchange of best practices, and promotes the adoption of innovative approaches in public safety management.
